Presenting the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières…
Mathieu and Rémy Audette Hunt for More Victories
Boisbriand (Québec), August 6, 2013.– Mathieu and Rémy Audette will contest this weekend's two Canadian Touring Car Championship races, held as part of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières. The brothers have together claimed all of the summer's CTCC victories in their Dimensions Doors/Novatech Super Touring cars. They will be looking to continue this streak in Trois-Rivières, on a track that both Mathieu and Rémy have won before.
Since the beginning of summer, four CTCC races have been held, two on the Circuit ICAR de Mirabel and two at the Circuit Mont-Tremblant. Each time, Mathieu Audette was victorious in the first race while Rémy claimed the second race. Repeating this scenario on the temporary urban course in Trois-Rivières is something that both Audette Racing Team drivers would be thrilled with. » Both of us have won here before, Mathieu in F1600 and in Touring and me in 2010 in Formula Tour 1600 » indicates Rémy, who specifies : » It's the first time since 2007 that I'll be contesting this track in a Touring Car and the very first time I'll be driving it in the dark. It doesn't stress me, on the contrary, it's an interesting concept and I'm eager to experience it « . The first of the two races will take place on Friday night, starting at dusk and ending in the dark. Rémy Audette adds : » The Civic is working really well and the Dimensions Doors/Novatech Acura RSX has always been fast on the Trois-Rivières track. I think we both have winning cars « .
The Audette Racing Team tested the Dimensions Doors/Novatech Honda Civic Si at the Circuit ICAR last Tuesday in order to validate some of their modifications heading into the two rounds in Trois-Rivières. » We're ready ! » declares Rémy. For Mathieu, the goal is pretty clear : » We're going for the win and the second spot on the podium. I'm anxious for Friday night's race; it's my favourite event of the season. There's such a special ambiance with the packed stands surrounding the track, I love this race « .
The CTCC drivers will be on the track three different times on Friday, starting with a free practice at 10am. The first qualifying session will be at 2:50pm and the thirty-minute race is scheduled for 8:15pm.
On Saturday, the initially scheduled practice session is instead being replaced by a half-hour (9:20 – 9:50am) qualification for the second race, which will take place on Sunday at 10:10am. » It's a bit of a tough schedule, especially with the added stress of finishing the first race at 9pm Friday night, only to be back on the track 12 hours later for another round of qualifying. But it's nothing major, we just have to hope that no technical issues arise during Friday night's round » confides Mathieu.
The Audette Racing Team benefits from the support of Dimensions Doors, Novatech, Les Extrusions du Nord, Verre Select, Jeld Wen, OPM, Amusements Spectaculaire, Les Moulures PFJV, JSA, Robover, Sturtz, Milette Portes, Mec-Inov, Soniplastics and Omnitech.
